9-31 December Lights of Lobethal  Adelaide Hills  The whole town lights up for Christmas, and hosts lights, markets and a living nativity.
27-28 December Bay Sheffield Carnival Adelaide Australia’s second richest foot race is held in the historic and vibrant seaside suburb of Glenelg.
31 December – 6 January Next Generation Clubs Adelaide International (Tennis) Adelaide. One of five lead up events to the Australian Open. Played just two weeks before the first Grand Slam of the year, the event offers players the ideal preparation for the Australian Open
January  Port MacDonnell Bayside Festival Limestone Coast A family festival including novelty competitions, food, wine, music, exhibitions and entertainment.
19-27 January  Tour Down Under  Adelaide and Regional South Australia Australia’s premier international cycling event. The fittest men on two wheels hit the streets of Adelaide and surrounds in a true test of endurance, these elite sportsmen will battle for the ochre jersey over seven days in the highest ranked international cycling event in the Southern Hemisphere. Cyclists of all ages can also participate in the Breakaway Series of rides – The Mutual Community Fun Tour, Mutual Community Challenge Tour and the Powerade mini tour for kids.
26-28 January Port Lincoln Tunarama Festival Eyre Peninsula  Celebrating this area’s famous fish, the event includes music, food, wine, parades, amusements and the famous Tuna Toss.
February  Adelaide Fringe  Adelaide  Now an annual event, the Adelaide Fringe is renowned for fresh ideas, risk, imagination, spontaneity and fun. The Fringe has grown into the biggest arts festival in the country, on a world scale is eclipsed only by the Edinburgh festivals. Adelaide feels different during the Fringe – come along and you will too.
February  Magic Millions  Adelaide  It’s playtime trackside. An unbeatable mix of racing, yearling sales, wine, fashion, food and flirtatious fun.

29 February – 19 March Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts Adelaide  The Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts is one of the world’s great arts Festivals. Held in the warm South Australian autumn of every ‘even’ year. This is a large-scale multi-arts event of extraordinary richness and diversity.
March  Crush – Adelaide Hills Wine Festival Adelaide Hills  The Adelaide Hills come alive as local wine producers team with quality restaurants to exhibit and sell their wares in a great Grazing Day.
March  Clipsal 500 Adelaide  Adelaide  The showcase event of the V8 Supercar Championship Series calendar. Motor racing’s legendary Murray Walker has called it the world’s greatest touring car event. It’s a four day festival of motor racing and music with an atmosphere that simply can’t be beaten. Come for the machines, stay for the music.
7-9 March  WOMADelaide  Adelaide  Adelaide’s beautiful Botanic Park is the venue for WOMADelaide – it’s a true celebration of world music. For three magical days and nights the sounds of picnickers and cricket playing youngsters will be replaced by some of the planet’s most extraordinary musicians, dancers and singers. Over 430 dazzling artists bring the sights and sounds of 27 countries to Adelaide.
10 March  SKYCITY Adelaide Cup Adelaide  The famous Adelaide Cup is more than a horse race, it’s a carnival. The racing is really just an excuse for a party.
5-6 April  International Rugby Sevens Adelaide  There’s just about no faster sport on the planet than Rugby Sevens. An incredible 44 games will be played over just two days at the prestigious Adelaide Oval – catch it if you can.
11-12 April  UCI BMX Supercross  Adelaide  In a world first, BMX Supercross will be held outside Europe and USA when it comes to Adelaide in April 2008.
18-20 April  2008 Australian BMX Championships Adelaide  Further cementing South Australia’s place as the cycling capital of Australia, the event will include non-stop BMX action.
June  World Food Exchange Adelaide  The inaugural World Food Exchange aims to showcase South Australia’s ecologically sustainable, world-class agricultural and aqua cultural practices to importers, journalists and food practitioners from around the world.
August  Schoolaerobics National Championships Adelaide  Watch schools from around Australia compete for the National Championships.
September  Australian In-line Hockey Championships Adelaide  Come and watch this sporting phenomena which is reputedly the fastest growing team sport.
